El iMac Pro es el nuevo pc de escritorio para profesionales de Apple, es un pc ideal para edición de vídeo, jugar, diseño gráfico, renderizado, escenas 3D, etc… Es el ordenador de Apple más potente que puedes comprar en este 2017 y probablemente también en el 2018.
el iMac Pro tendrá un precio de 5000 euros, se podrá comprar a partir del 14 de diciembre de 2017,no es tan caro como pueda parecer, un pc con sus mismos componentes cuesta más o menos lo mismo, pero este iMac tiene la gracia que viene en un diseño muy cuidado, además de traer ya todo el software que necesitas integrado, como por ejemplo el Final Cut Pro de edición de vídeo.
En cuanto al diseño no hay diferencias entre un iMac 5k normal y un iMac Pro 5k, por fuera no notarás ninguna diferencia, esta es una de las gracias de este producto, ya que tienes la gran potencia de un servidor pero con un diseño minimalista y espectacular.
Para 2018 se espera un pc de escritorio modular por parte de Apple, llamado Mac Pro modular, pero hasta que no llegue este iMac Pro es la mejor opción si quieres un pc potente, ya que sus componentes tienen mejor rendimiento que los nuevos Mac Pro de 2017, que la verdad fueron algo decepcionantes.
El iMac Pro tiene componentes muy potentes, como procesadores intel Xeon W, o la nueva GPU Radeon Vega Pro, además de unas unidades SSD brutales, esto es lo que marca la diferencia con un iMac.
La gran pega de un iMac Pro es que no se puede actualizar, no podrás cambiar ningún componente interior, ni el disco duro, ni la RAM, ni la tarjeta gráfica. Tal cual te lo compres te lo tendrás que comer con patatas, está claro que tardarás muchos años en que se quede obsoleto, pero esto un pc normal sí que lo permite.
iMac Pro características
La gran diferencia entre un iMac normal y un iMac Pro está en el hardware del interior, mientras que los iMac montan componentes de pc normales el iMac Pro monta componentes destinados a servidores, o sea, a máquinas que tienen que procesar una cantidad de información bestial.
Por ejemplo, un iMac normal monta procesadores tipo core de Intel, como por ejemplo un iCore i7, mientras que los iMac Pro montan procesadores intel Xeon W, que son las CPU de última generación que montan los servidores de todo el mundo, son pc destinados a soportar todo el peso de una compañía, así que imagina lo potentes que son estos nuevos iMac Pro.

Por supuesto para meter todo este nuevo hardware el interior del iMac Pro ha sido completamente rediseñado, piensa que ya sólo de disipación de calor estos nuevos iMac necesitan mucho más aire, pero esto es algo que el usuario de a pie no va a ver, ya que son cosas de diseño ocultas por Apple.
Eso significa que el iMac Pro no es actualizable, una vez te has comprado el iMac Pro no puedes cambiar ni actualizar ningún componente, es como una caja negra que vas a usar tal y como te viene de fábrica, esto puede tirar para atrás a los usuarios acostumbrados las típicas cajas de pc donde todo se puede cambiar, desde el disco duro hasta la CPU.
Las pantallas del iMac Pro tienen 27 pulgadas y resolución 5K, 5120 x 2880 píxeles, son las mismas que monta el iMac 5k, sin duda es una pantalla excepcional que se ve de lujo, ideal para diseñadores gráficos, sin duda es de lo mejor que puedes encontrar en el mercado.
En cuanto a conexiones externas el iMac Pro trae:

iMac Pro Diseño
Puedes comprar el iMac Pro en varios colores como blanco, plata o gris. En la parte frontal tiene 2 micrófonos y una cámara mejorada para vídeo conferencias, un par de altavoces mejorados, que se oyen sin duda más potentes que en un iMac 5k normal.
Pero en general todo en el iMac Pro es igual que en un iMac: La panalla, el soporte, los laterales y la parte de atrás del iMac Pro no han cambiado. En cuanto a diseño exterior el iMac Pro es idéntico a un iMac 5k de 2017.
Para nosotros esto es una ventaja, ya que tienes un pc que tiene la potencia de un servidor pero con un diseño espectacular, minimalísta y además muy compacto, sin duda esta es la gracia de comprar un iMac Pro.
iMac Pro pruebas, rendimiento y benckmarks
Hemos usado el iMac Pro durante una semana para editar vídeos, usando la última versión del Final Cut Pro, así que te podemos dar nuestras opiniones e impresiones sobre cómo ha ido. A continuación puedes ver un vídeo a 4k editado desde el iMac Pro y con el Final Cut Pro.
La versión del iMac Pro que hemos usado tiene un procesador intel Xeon W de 10 cores a 3GHZ, 128GB de RAM DDR4, 2 Teras de disco SSD, tarjeta gráfica AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64 de 16GB. Como ves es una auténtica bestia parda por dentro.
